Charlotte

Charlotte

August, 2008 - This is Charlotte. She came to us in early July after being rescued from a puppy mill by BHRQ. Charlotte had been bred so much, her last 2 litters had died and now her "owner" wanted to discard her. Charlotte is 4 years old. When we first got her, she had difficulty walking after being kept cooped up in a small pen with absolutely no exercise. She also had poor endurance and huffed and panted a lot when she tried to play with our brood. But she was so affectionate, which is surprising given her lack of human companionship. She also got along with our dogs right from the start and soon was playing until she was exhausted. It almost seemed as if she knew she was free from the horror of her past. Charlotte adapted quickly to her new life and her physical recovery was phenominal. We are happy to say that Charlotte found a permanent home late in August. She has a companion too - an 18 month female basset/beagle. Such a happy ending for this poor abused girl!
