Chloe

May 2009 - Chloe is a five year old female who was rescued from a backyard breeder by Gerdy's Rescues and Adoptions. She tested heartworm positive, had urinary, ear, and eye infections when she came to stay with us. She was also cruelly debarked. Despite all this, she is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves to play with toys and our dogs. She also is quite a hoader, and fills her big fluffy bed with her spoils.

July 2009 - Chloe's ear and eye infections are gone now. She is still on special food for her urinary infection and will be for a short while longer. She has taken the last of her "HeartGard" medication and now needs a blood test and a couple very expensive injections to ensure the heartworm has been cleared up. It is a long process to cure this needless situation caused by neglect.

August 2009 - Chloe has been adopted by a family in Vermont who also have 3 other Bassets rescued by Gerdy. (You can read about them - known as the "3 Amigos" at Gerdy's site.) Chloe went to her new home in early August. We visited later in August and she is doing just fine! She has lots of companions and a wonderful home. Great ending to her situation.
