Doobie (now Hoss)
Doobie

May/June, 2010 - Doobie (Mingus) is a big, goofy loveable one-year-old who was given up by his previous family. They loved him, but just didn't have the time a basset needs. As expected, he wasn't at our place very long, when a family discovered him. They were looking for a companion for their 4-year old basset. Doobie went to meet them and it was instant love. Two days later, he went to live with them and has never looked back. Doobie spends much of his day rough-housing with Sasha, his basset companion. Another happy ending!

June, 2011 - As unbelievable as it may seem, Doobie was given up by his owners after 11 months, claiming that he was trouble and they couldn't do anything with him!!! So he came back to our place and showed no signs of a problem whatsoever. It is often the case that people get tired of their dogs and find any excuse to get rid of them - we're sure that this is the situation here. But Doobie had an angel waiting for him. Peg, our lady down south knew he was in need and called to say she would take him along with another dog in need of a home. So Doobie and his new friend headed south. Doobie has been a star since his arrival and has a new name - befitting this big goof - "Hoss".

Thanks, Peg, and good luck Hoss!
