Sadie

Sadie

June 2008 - Sadie is a female of approximately 1 1/2 years of age. She came to us at the end of May with an unknown background and was allegedly a stray. She is in the process of getting all her shots and will be spayed very soon. Sadie is a very active and affectionate little girl. She gets along well with our dogs and will play with them all day long if you let her. If you would like to give this sweetheart a permanent home, she will be ready for adoption just as soon as she is spayed.

July 2008 - Well, it was not without problems along the way, but Sadie was adopted earlier this month! At one point, she developed a complication and needed an emergency operation. At the same time, she was spayed ahead of schedule. We are pleased to say that she is doing fine and was adopted not long ago. We are so happy that this sweet girl has found a happy home and will never have to endure another puppy mill.

September 2008 - In a twist of fate, we got sadie back. She was causing trouble for her new family because she barked too much and the neighbours were complaining. Sadie likes to vocalize when she plays or is lonely. However, she has found a new home now and seems to be fitting right in. Good luck, Sadie!

Another disappointment! Poor Sadie. This was her to be her final home. But that wasn't to be. The Grandmother of what seemed to be a stable loving home, didn't seem to have any time for Sadie. So when the daughter was not around, Sadie was totally neglected and soon began to soil in the house. We couldn't leave her in that situation, so we took Sadie back. As is often the case, the dog suffers for reasons not under its control and this time it was no different. Sadie has never given us reason to doubt her. She is a wonderful loving companion. She gets along well with our group of 3 and seems to fit right in so well with our routine, it's like she was always with us. She will run and jump up on your lap and be with you for hours at a time. This girl needs a home and will be a wonderful, loving, loyal pet to any family that will just give her a chance. Can't you see it in your heart to give her a home?

December 2008 - Good news. Thanks to Gerdy's Rescues and Adoptions, Sadie has recently gone to a home in Ontario, a family with another Basset and a cat. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for Sadie that this time, she will have the chance to show how wonderful she really is.

August 2009 - Well....life is not always fair and it certainly wasn't for Sadie. After finally finding a wonderful home where she was so happy, she was robbed of life by Canine Addison's disease. For a while it seemed as though she was responding to treatment, but in the end she lost the battle when her little heart gave out. Sadie had a wonderful 8 months and she was loved by all. Sadie will live forever in our hearts.
